Blunders- a stupid or careless mistake
Absurd- wildly unreasonable, illogical, or inappropriate
Inciting- encourage in or stir
Incongruous- not in harmony or keeping with the surroundings or other aspects of something
Ridicule- the subjection of someone or something to contemptuous and dismissive language or behavior
Mortification- great embarrassment and shame
Stalwart- loyal, reliable, and hardworking
Allied- joined by relating to members of an alliance
Frolicking- animal/person that plays and moves about cheerfully, excitedly, or energetically
Jeering- making rude or mocking remarks, typically in loud voice

   As Brandon went frolicking around the courtyard, he noticed an absurd object on the ground near the benches. He studied the object carefully to find that it was an injured baby bird. He carried this look of mortification as he walked around the campus because he was frightened about how the other students would ridicule jeer at him. In this event he blunders on trying to find someone who could help. He thought maybe he could take it to a animal hospital since it is an allied workplace. Also for the fact the doctors there are honored stalwarts. One of the doctors Brandon met was very inciting on letting him know that the baby bird was okay and that it was common for birds to get in accidents such as this one. The environment was not incongruous or uncomfortable. In the end the bird ended up recovering within three days and Brandon walked away relieved.

Tired of Seeing C's

Today in class, we finished reading The Wife Bath's Tale. I found it intriguing because I knew in the end what would happen, but I found that there was a deeper meaning to what actually happened. I figured that the old woman would become beautiful in some way, but not through domimance. I admired this short story because of how well written it was and how shined a light on women having power of men. How it is not that bad. Afterwards, we took a short quiz on the story. I was very upset with the grade on it, I feel that I work hard to achieve what I want. For some reason, my multiple choice grades are not improving. I believe it I'd because when it comes to test, I have really bad anxiety. I second guess myself a lot. I am going to put more effort into my testing skills and hopefully improve. My goal is to make an A in the class for the whole semester.

From Effort to Improvement

Today in class we took a prose multiple choice quiz taken from a previous AP Literature test. When I first began to read, I figured it be a easy read. The only thing was that the vocabulary made the read difficult. After the quiz was over, I felt pretty confident. Honestly, I wasn't upset because I felt more comfortable while taking the test. I put effort towards improving on multiple choice questions by watching strategy videos as well as being more confident when taking the test. I'm so happy that I'm seeing an improvement.

Quarantine Blues: Chilling with AP

While everything being canceled that the Class of 2020 was looking forward to, there is to work that needs to be done. I am honestly not upset about the fact that things are getting postponed/canceled because I am at peace, in a way. To prepare myself for the AP Exam, the one thing that is not getting canceled, I decided to take the first quiz on AP Classroom with no preparations. It may sound stupid, but it gives me a better chance to really scope out my weaknesses. One of them being second guessing myself. This is nothing new to me because test anxiety is real. The three biggest ones were: vocabulary, taking a complex question and breaking it down, and paying attention to word choices when choosing an answer. All of these have some type of strategy I can use, that have been mentioned by my teacher at least once. Hopefully, this workbook that I have recieved will be beneficial.
